By now winter is in full force no matter where you live.
The air is dry and snow storms are in full force. And even if you don’t have snow, it is likely, that you wake up to frost on the leaves outside in your garden.
Toto, we’re not in Summer anymore!
That being said, taking care of your skin is something to pay keen attention to this winter.
Dry air calls for more moisturizing of your skin. This means thicker lotions that stay on your skin longer. Lotions that contain droplets of oil or even petroleum jelly are helpful in keeping your skin moisturized during the winter.
Continue to drink more water
Speaking of moisturizing, the easiest way to keep your skin hydrated is to drink more water. You will be turning on heaters to keep warm. This takes a considerable amount of water away from your skin. The dry air also does a number on your hydration levels. So continue to drink water in addition to all those delicious fluids you might be drinking this holiday season.
Break out the sunscreen
In most people’s minds, sunscreen is the last thing you would think about for winter. The reality however is that UV rays from the sun don’t take a break in the winter. Yes, they are strongest in the summer, but there are still there.
Use sunscreen that contains an SPF level of at least 15 to keep your skin protected during the winter.
Stress can change chemical levels in your skin which in turn could cause problems. Want to have better looking skin? Avoid stressors! This may be your cue to say no to responsibilities you may not want to take on because your plate is already full.
Do it for your skin!
