At Dermatological Association Of Texas, we believe in BOTOX® Cosmetic.  BOTOX® Cosmetic works in several different areas on the face such as: Frown Lines, Forehead Lines, Eye Brow Lift, and Crow’s Feet.  BOTOX® is injected into the muscle in these areas and works by weakening the muscle, which in turn lessens the lines of facial expression. The results last 2-4 months and there is little to no down time.  We can give you a natural, relaxed look, and you will still have your freedom of expression.

Dermal Fillers

Juvederm™ Injectable Gel is a smooth gel filler that instantly smoothes out wrinkles and facial folds. There are two types of Juvederm. It typically last 9-12 months and causes very little swelling or bruising. Results aren’t just instant, but they’re also smooth and natural, everyone will notice but no one will know. Juvederm Ultra is used for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkes such as the lines along the sides of your nose and mouth. Typically this product is used to add volume to the lips and help to fill hollow areas under the eyes.

Radiesse® is a safe, next generation cosmetic dermal filler that lasts longer than other fillers. It is setting a new standard for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles, restoring a natural, youthful look in an easy, convenient treatment. As we age, we start to lose fat in our faces. This is often quite noticeable in the cheek area. Radiesse® dermal filler is ideal for adding volume to cheeks because it can be used to treat large surface areas in one procedure. The result is a healthy-looking, contoured cheek area, like that of more youthful faces.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels are an ideal way to improve the overall quality of your skin with little or no down time. Chemical Peels are topically applied and aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skins surface. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of the top layers of the skin. Chemical Peels can reduce blotchy, uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, superficial acne scarring and acne. Meet with our Medical Esthetician to determine which chemical peel is best for your skin type and needs.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a procedure where the skin superficial cellular layers of the skin and unwanted facial hair on the face is removed with a blade. This treatment results in super smooth skin. A change in the skin texture can be felt right away.

Hair Reduction

The Palomar StarLux Intense Pulse Light (IPL) machine uses a new technology that removes unwanted hair up to 10 times faster than other lasers. The light system works by emitting pulses of intense lamplight into the hair follicles.  The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicales and converted to heat.  The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair. All areas of the body can be treated except around the eyes. Three to six treatments are necessary to reduce unwanted hair. more...

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Photofacial

Melenage Peel

The Melanage Peel Treatment is the most effective treatment of hyperpigmentation and pigmented blemishes. It is a superficial peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by melasma and sun damage. The treatment involves applying a masque and an at-home regimen. Melanage Masque is applied during an office visit where the practitioner compounds the peel at the time of dispensing to ensure its potency and reliability. The masque is removed by patient after required length of time according to their skin type. Patients leave office with masque on their face. Patients are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, at-home regimen involving the application of Melanage home care products.  All skin areas can be treated and all skin types. One to two treatment periods is recommended and can be repeated 4-6 months following the first treatment if necessary

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a gentle resurfacing procedure using a diamond tipped device called the Diamond Tome® . The technique involves gentle suction with a diamond tipped wand to exfoliate the skin surface. This technique has been remarkably effective in removing excess oil, blackheads and bacteria in acne patients by essentially "vacuuming up" dead skin cells, bacteria, blackheads and skin surface oils. Superficial pigmentation problems can also be improved, as can fine lines, wrinkles and irregular skin texture. Repeated treatments are recommended.

MicroLaser Peel

MicroLaserPeel™is an intra-epidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layer of the skin. It is considered to be one of the most effective in overall improvement of your skin. Utilizing a unique laser, we can remove upper layers of your skin at precise depths. In doing so, your “new” skin will dramatically improve. You can expect 2-5 days of redness, depending on the depth of the peel. We recommend scheduling an appointment near a weekend or holiday when you have time to recuperate. This is a truly amazing treatment with dramatic results even after one treatment. MicroLaser Peel’s can require 3 treatments depending on desired results. The procedure is individually customized for the condition to be corrected. Patient recovery from the Microlaser Peel™ is rapid. Once the procedure is complete, patients can drive themselves home. Symptoms immediately following the procedure resemble a sunburn, with mild weeping, which can last 1-3 days. By the third to fourth day, the redness starts to fade and make-up can be applied. Patients may experience flakiness and peeling for 7-10 days. Patients are usually able to return to work within several days with make-up. MicroLaserPeel™ offers benefits to anyone who wants to improve specific skin conditions and rejuvenate the overall health and appearance of their skin. Including: Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles, Rejuvenate Sun-Damages Skin from the Face, Reduce Age Spots from the Face, Reduce Superficial Scaring, Reduce Hyperpigmentation, Rejuvenate Skin Health.

Non-Ablative Skin Rejuvenation

The Non-Ablative Skin Rejuvenation treatment is a non-invasive fractional treatment that stimulates collagen production helping to rejuvenate, plump and tighten the skin. You will see a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, acne scars & pigmentation. With little to no downtime, visible results are seen within 1-2 weeks after each treatment.  Typically 3-6 treatments are recommended to achieve optimal results. Treatments are performed 3-4 weeks apart. Immediately following the procedure you may experience mild redness which typically subsides within a few hours. You may return to your normal activities immediately following the procedure. Areas such as the face, neck and chest can be treated with this procedure as well as other areas on the body.

Photodynamic Acne Treatment

Photodynamic Acne Treatment is a process by which a photosensitizing agent (Levulan) is applied to your skin. The Levulan is then activated with a specific wavelength of light, which “turns it on.” Levulan has been used extensively for the treatment of a variety of different skin conditions, and it is approved by the FDA. This procedure treats moderate to severe acne. We recommend  a series of 3 treatments done 1 month apart.

Stretch Mark Treatment

Stretch marks are an unfortunate fact of life for many women. Anytime the skin has been stretched too far or too fast – such as in puberty, pregnancy or weight loss – these unsightly lines appear. We are pleased to offer the only FDA approved treatment to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Fractional laser stretch mark treatment is a non-invasive laser that stimulates collagen production, which reduces the appearance of the stretch marks. Any area of the body can be treated with the fractional laser. There is no downtime and is pain free. You may return to work or your regular activities immediately following this procedure. Typically, a series of treatments are preformed and you will see visible results in as little as 1-2 treatments.

Surgery & Trauma Scar Treatment

Treating scars is easier than you think. Why go through the expense and hassle of hiding your scars with makeup and clothing when you can reduce them with laser scar treatment that’s fast and easy. Laser scar treatment is a non-invasive laser procedure that remodels scar tissue resulting in visible improvement in the scar. Laser scar treatment is a comfortable procedure with virtually no downtime allowing you to return to your normal activities immediately following the procedure. Typically this procedure can take anywhere from 3-5 treatment sessions; however, results may vary from patient to patient. This procedure can be performed on any area of the body and on any skin type.

Latisse™ solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes. Latisse™ is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in the growth phase. Results are usually gradual. Users do see significant improvement in 6-8 weeks. Latisse™ is the only FDA approved prescription for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes. It has also been studied in clinical trials to demonstrate safety and effectiveness.
